Sourced from the “Albar” plot, planted in 1986, this wine offers a pure expression of the Cabernet Franc variety grown in an organic environment with minimal intervention. Organic Vineyard on White Limestone Soils
The “Albar” plot, located next to the winery, sits on limestone soils formed by marine sediments rich in carbonates. Its characteristic white colour (“Albus” in Latin) and soil structure allow excellent deep moisture retention. This environment, combined with organic farming practices, provides ideal conditions for an expressive, healthy, and balanced Cabernet Franc.
No Sulphites, No Filtration Winemaking
Harvest takes place at dawn to preserve the aromas and avoid oxidation. After manual selection, the grapes are crushed and fermented with cold skin maceration. The wine is aged for 3 months on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks. No sulphites have been added at any stage of the process, and the wine is unfiltered to fully preserve its natural character. It may contain natural sediment or cloudiness, which does not affect its quality.
Tasting Notes – Organic Natural Cabernet Franc 2024
- Appearance: Intense ruby colour with purple rim. Medium, slow tears. Clean appearance, though unfiltered.
- Nose: Ripe black and red fruits (cherry, black plum, blackberry), lavender, wild rose, liquorice, and black cigar leaf.
- Palate: Dry entry with balanced acidity. Explosion of ripe black fruit, soft tannins, and a full-bodied mouthfeel. Long, savoury, and persistent finish.
Perfect Pairing for this Natural Wine
Perfect with wood-fired red meats, slow-cooked stews with legumes, baked rice dishes, and recipes with rich sauces. Serve between 14 and 16 ºC in a medium-bodied glass with a slightly narrow rim.
