Alegría de Tharsys Bobal Crianza – Organic and Vegan Red Wine from Old Vines
Alegría de Tharsys Bobal Crianza is an organic and vegan red wine made from Bobal grapes grown in century-old vineyards located in Pago de Tharsys, Requena (Valencia). These low-yield vines produce an elegant wine with a distinctly Mediterranean character. Its 12-month ageing in French oak barrels brings roundness, finesse and aromatic complexity while preserving the natural freshness of the variety.

Organic vineyard and continental climate with Mediterranean influence
The Bobal vineyard lies at over 780 metres above sea level, on a small 1.12-hectare plot with vines aged between 60 and 100 years. The clay soils retain moisture and provide freshness even during Requena’s dry summers. Organic cultivation —free from herbicides and pesticides— respects the natural balance of the environment and enhances biodiversity, following our guiding principle: observe and respect.
Traditional winemaking with French oak ageing
Harvesting is done by hand, and the entire winemaking process takes place on the estate. The must ferments slowly at low temperature, with gentle pump-overs to preserve the varietal character and avoid over-extraction. The wine is then aged for 12 months in second- and third-use French oak barrels, refining its structure and enhancing its natural aromas.
Tasting notes – Alegría de Tharsys Bobal Crianza
- Appearance: Bright, intense ruby colour with medium-high depth and fine tears.
- Nose: Aromas of lavender and fresh red fruits (cherry, blackberry, plum), with hints of vanilla, mocha, roasted coffee and spices such as clove and pepper.
- Palate: Intense flavours of plums and blackberries, with an excellent balance between acidity and ripeness. Silky tannins, medium body and an elegant finish with lingering notes of red fruit and toasted spices.
Perfect food pairing for this organic and vegan wine
Ideal with red meats, cured sausages, game dishes or stews of legumes and roasted vegetables such as ratatouille or vegetable lasagna. Serve between 16–18 ºC in a medium-bodied glass.
