Pago de Tharsys Night Harvest Albarino 2023 – Albarino white wine
Pago de Tharsys Night Harvest Albarino 2023 is crafted using traditional methods, carefully monitored from harvest to bottling. Aged on its lees in stainless steel for two months, it gains aromatic complexity and a creamy texture while preserving the floral and fruity essence of this unique Albariño grape, ensuring its vibrant character shines.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Glowing lemon yellow colour with flecks of green. Fine, slowly flowing drops.
- Nose: Delicate floral notes of acacia and elderflower lead to vibrant citrus aromas of yellow grapefruit, lemon peel, and fresh stone fruits, complemented by elegant herbal hints of sage and savory, with a subtle mineral touch of wet stone.
- Mouth: Intense stone fruit and herbal flavors take center stage, balanced by vibrant acidity and ripeness. Fresh and lively, with a long, persistent finish, it offers a smooth, unctuous texture and a rich, enveloping sensation.
Serving: Serve between 6ºC and 8ºC in medium-sized glasses with a wide body, slightly narrower at the top. An ideal wine to serve with white fish: turbot, sole, bream, etc., boiled shellfish, octopus, fish and veggie rice/pasta dishes.
Organic Wine-growing: Following organic practices, we avoid chemicals and preserve biodiversity. Grapes are hand harvested at night in September to maintain Albariño’s floral and fruity essence, arriving at the winery within 15 minutes for careful selection.
Vintage: A warm, dry spring advanced sprouting, while late May rains balanced water reserves. A hot summer reduced yield by 25% but ensured excellent grape quality. Albariño was harvested at dawn on August 30 for optimal freshness.
Note: Originally from Galicia, the Albariño grape was introduced to Requena in the 1960s by winemaker Jesús Requena, who helped Galician producers refine white winemaking techniques. Our Albariño vines come from that historic vineyard in Siete Aguas, carrying a deep connection to the roots of Pago de Tharsys founder Vicente García, who began his enology career teaching in Galicia. This variety is a tribute to his legacy and passion for winemaking.
