Wine and Cheese, a Perfect Match is a wine tourism and gastronomic experience for two people, designed to enjoy wine, cheese and the tranquillity of the countryside. It combines accommodation, a guided winery tour and a hands-on cheesemaking workshop and tasting in an authentic cheese-ageing cave.
The experience is available from Monday to Thursday (excluding public holidays) and begins with a welcome glass of wine upon arrival at Pago de Tharsys Rural Hotel. You will spend one night in a double room surrounded by vineyards and enjoy a homemade breakfast featuring local products the following morning.
The guided tour includes a visit to the organic vineyards, winery, barrel room and 19th-century underground cellar. It concludes with a guided tasting of three wines accompanied by traditional cured meats from Requena.
The highlight of the experience is the cheesemaking workshop and tasting at Hoya de la Iglesia Cheese Dairy. You will learn the complete process of making traditional Valencian fresh cheese and create your own cheese. Afterwards, you will enjoy a guided tasting of artisan cheeses paired with local wine. The workshop lasts approximately 1.5 hours: 45 minutes for cheesemaking and 45 minutes for the tasting.
