The Vineyard

The Merlot comes from a plot in the northern part of the estate, with clay soils on the surface and a strong limestone bedrock that provides concentration and natural balance thanks to its good drainage. The Cabernet Franc, located in the south on entirely limestone soils of ancient origin, produces structured, fresh wines with intense mineral aromas and a distinctive earthy character.

Vintage 2010

The 2010 vintage was marked by a very cold and rainy winter, with rainfall well above average, allowing for excellent water reserves in the soil. The harvest of Merlot and Cabernet took place at the end of September, with lower temperatures that favored optimal phenolic ripeness and high grape quality.


Winemaking

Produced following the traditional method, with 12 months of aging in French oak barrels. This “Selección Bodega” cuvée comes from a selection of the best barrels made by the tasting committee. It is not filtered at bottling in order to preserve its structure and aromas, and may therefore present natural sediment.


Tasting Notes

Appearance: Bright, clear garnet color.

Nose: Intense aromas of red fruits with hints of plum liqueur, accompanied by notes of cedar and damp forest, and a delicate spicy background of black pepper and clove.

Palate: Balanced and fresh structure, with ripe tannins that provide roundness and persistence. Flavors of sour cherries, humus, and spices stand out.


Service & Food Pairing

Service: Serve at 16–18 °C in a wide-bodied glass.

Pairing: Pairs beautifully with stewed game dishes and recipes featuring mushrooms, such as saffron mushrooms or porcini.
